Lora Schwacke is currently serving the state of New Jersey as a substitute teacher for the Waldwick Board of Education. She has been working with the board since 2010, and has had the pleasure of teaching both middle and high school students in a variety of subjects and classrooms. She is a natural educator who has a way with her students that they both respect and admire. Although she started her career in the world of accounting and auditing, she retired from a career as a Certified Public Accountant in 2004 in order to pursue a teaching career.
However, Lora Schwacke believes that the most important teaching she does comes from her knowledge as a natural birth educator. She is certified in teaching expectant mothers the patented Bradley Method, which is a 12-week course designed to teach mothers and fathers what to expect in regards to the natural birthing process.
One of the main things that Bradley Method instructors teach is prenatal exercise. Exercise is important not only for your own health, but for the health of the child as well. Carrying a growing, living human being inside of you for nine months is no easy task; you are now feeding, sleeping, and exercising for two people instead of just one.
Yoga can be a great way to exercise during pregnancy because it increases flexibility, core strength, and it helps your mind to relax. Yoga can be extremely beneficial, especially those seeking a natural birth, because relaxation is the key for both. A natural childbirth will go more smoothly if the mother is calm and relaxed; something all yoga practices teach.
